COLIN FILGATE
Colin is a passionate artist who recently graduated magna cum laude from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Animation. During his time at school he learned the animation pipeline and quickly found his love for visual development and character design. Colin appreciates the importance of a good story in all aspects of the animation process from the acting to the backgrounds and props.
Colin spent his final year of school working on his collaborative senior film Polaris, a 2D/3D hybrid. Through this experience he learned the importance and love of collaboration between artists. Polaris has already won Gold at the 2019 SCAD Spring Animation Showcase and is currently being submitted to multiple festivals.
Colin enjoys thinking of new ways to approach problems, to find the most exciting and entertaining results in his work. In between projects he can be found constantly drawing fan art, joining in Instagram art challenges and learning new techniques to improve his artistic approach.
